Makeover magic

I haven't really been on the ball creating new digital materials. I promise the creativity will come back soon. My mind and focus have been elsewhere (Reading and Classroom Furniture/Decor/Organization). Anyways...Check out my TPT Store there just might be something for you. My new favorite items are my Jungle Themed Alphabet Cards and Math Mats!

Here's what I gave a makeover this week! (This is where my focus has been lol)

Since I made that fabulous lettering for my reading area.....I thought why not make something for my writing center as well. What do you think?

Okay so last night I decided to make a late night trip to Wal-Mart. As I walked through the door I saw black caddies that were $0.97! I thought that was a steal so I grabbed five. As I wandered aimlessly around the store I also found some animal print ribbon. I only have two finished...but they are super cute!  There is a basket for each of my groups---one for the Giraffes, Leopards, Zebras, Monkeys, and Elephants. I'm going to put the caddies on top of each groups carts! They will be filled with different supplies.

Thrifty Thursday

I know I've been MIA for a while...But I'm back! The last couple of weeks have consisted of teaching summer school and reading. Summer school ended last Friday and I've run out of books so I thought I should be productive. What better way than some DIY projects.

In my last post I showed some of the things I've recently purchased. Those black crates were calling my name. I finally made seat toppers with the help of my wonderful husband! Thanks babe :)

Materials: 5 Black Crates, 5 Animal Print Quilting Squares, 5 Foam Cushions, and Quilters Batting

The wonderful Mr. McQueen....
Couldn't find his safety glasses so my sunglasses had to do---

After Josh cut the plywood for me, I added the foam and batting then used the staple gun. I probably could of got away with just using the batting, but why not make them extra comfy...

Does anyone else use their dining room table for DIY projects? My husband thinks I'm crazy.

Finished product! What do you think?

Inspired by Katie over at Queen of the First Grade Jungle....I decided to make some letters for the reading comer of my "future" classroom. I keep telling my husband that when I finally get my own classroom I'll have everything I need----He doesn't exactly believe me and I don't blame him.

Materials: Cardboard Letters, Animal Print Scrapbook Paper, and  Tacky  Spray

Before gluing....

Finished Product!

While I was out and about I decided to stop at Ross before picking up lunch. I can always count on finding something fabulous and inexpensive!
I found this treasure for $11.99. How cute is this....I'm so ready for Fall Decor

I'm also working on a project for my house......I am a huge fan of pallet furniture and accessories. I want to make....well try to make.... a couch, table, and some frames for wall accessories. When I get something finished I'll be sure to post.
